Our Centrale 8: October 2013

I can't believe I had a fever for so many days that I even started to suspect that I had dengue.
All that body aches, and fever that came and went.

Don't worry though, I'm ok now!

Finally got better after spending days in bed. I slept so much that I still feel like it's Monday today.

Thankfully Shawn is on leave at the moment, and he could bring me out to breathe some fresh air.

There's not better way to feel alive again than to visit the new place!

Our unit is the 4th unit down from the top right.

The windows are left open again. But we are not complaining because the lower units are having the wardrobe installed. That means that it'd be our unit soon.

The blocks facing the mosque even had their air-con installed, which means that our block will have the air-con up by next month!

It is fast compared to our neighbouring block which doesn't even have it's windows.

Our block is located beside the amenities block.

Pity the poll for the  Card Access Security System at the ground floor lift lobby of all residential blocks had been no-go.

IKEA Catalogue 2014

Have you got the latest copy of the IKEA 2014 Catalogue?

I have got my copy and went through it TWICE!

So many pieces of furniture that would be suitable for the small living space that comes with the new HDB flats these days.

And I've tagged out my favourite ones, color coded similar to the copy I had last year!

Yes, our new flat will be furnished with IKEA furniture wherever possible as the prices seem rather affordable, and there are plenty of designs to choose from. Most importantly, IKEA is near our new home!

Can't wait!

[Backdated] Bangkok Special 27 May 2013

Travelling alone has been taken to a whole new level as I flew to Bangkok alone and spend the morning there alone before meeting Kexin in the afternoon.

I've always loved taking lonely bus rides, driving down the freeway alone, eating my meals alone, shopping alone. But taking a plane to a (not so) foreign land alone and taking the Airport Link to the city alone while shopping at Siam Paragon alone... I really can get used to this!

It helps that I'm a light traveller and didn't have any check-in luggage. Hence, I was on the Airport Link towards the city in no time.

Breakfast at Fuji, Siam Paragon.

I always forget that I'm a miserable-eater these days and never fail to order portions that I cannot finish.
Especially at THB360 (S$16) for such a large bento, I make the common mistake of a Singaporean going "cheap-cheap" and just order without considering if the food would go to waste.

Anyway, after breakfast, headed to the hotel to meet Kexin and it was off to CHATUCHAT MARKET as we searched for items that we wanted: Pets stuff for her cat, and wedding stuff for me.

At Chatuchat Market, it's hard to resist snacking while shopping.

Check out the special flavoured icecream: Thai Iced Tea
Super love it!

Kexin had Coconut flavoured icecream that was refreshing for the hot weather.

Didn't spend much time at Chatuchat Market due to the killer weather.
Headed to TERMINAL 21 at Asoke for some shopping with air-con.

Found a shop that sells the type of clock which I want for the balcony at the new home

And also a cafe that sell awesome Coconut Meringue Pie

Desserie Sweet Cafe is a small bakery shop located on 2nd floor.
Try it when you're there!

It was Kexin's 1st time there, so I persuaded her to take some photos:

The shopping mall is a themed-mall with each level designed to reflect different countries.

I have been rather camera-shy recently (except for cam-whoring alone), hence, Kexin managed to only get 2 photos of me.

Love how we both each have a photo of us poking fun at the poor statue.

By the way, the big bag on my hand is indeed...

Around 30 packets of Taokaenoi Seaweed!
It is madness, but it's a must buy!

Another must try is at "HAVE A ZEED" located at the 4th floor.

Our dinner place for the night serves Phad Thai Spaghetti & Green Curry Spaghetti.

We then ended the night chilling at the hotel lounge due to the sudden downpour.

The next day was shopping at the Platinum Wholesale Mall before heading to the airport.

When at Platinum Mall, always eat this:

Stewed Pork with Rice.
This rice makes the 4 hours flight to Bangkok worth every bit of it!

Anyway, the trip home was alone again as we said our good-byes at the Bangkok Airport: She was flying Thai-airways, while I was with Flyscoot.

Almost there

Everytime I head over to the East, I couldn't resist turning over to our Centrale 8.

This is our unit on the right, 2 floors from the top.
Photo taken from a future bus stop opposite our block.

It's always exciting to see more being done and we get closer to getting the keys to our new home. Because with the new home comes a new phrase of our lives!

Want for OUR Centrale 8

Sent a picture of this to him and he immediately agreed that we should get it!

Counting down to the day we get the keys to our home and officially become an East-sider once again!

The Road is Open!

Since we were at the East for dinner with 阿公, we decided to turn over Centrale 8 to take a look.

Guess what. The road is opened!

Now we are just lacking the windows, paint and the interior stuff.... And we are moving to the East!

I can't help feeling über excited at the idea of getting the keys soon.

Started tagging out my favourite piece of furniture. My mind is spilling with ideas of how I'm going to do up my new home!

Problem is... There is still 1 YEAR before we get keys!

A drive by the new home shows that work had started.

I can't wait to be choosing furniture for our new place.
