[Backdated] Bangkok Special 27 May 2013

Travelling alone has been taken to a whole new level as I flew to Bangkok alone and spend the morning there alone before meeting Kexin in the afternoon.

I've always loved taking lonely bus rides, driving down the freeway alone, eating my meals alone, shopping alone. But taking a plane to a (not so) foreign land alone and taking the Airport Link to the city alone while shopping at Siam Paragon alone... I really can get used to this!

It helps that I'm a light traveller and didn't have any check-in luggage. Hence, I was on the Airport Link towards the city in no time.

Breakfast at Fuji, Siam Paragon.

I always forget that I'm a miserable-eater these days and never fail to order portions that I cannot finish.
Especially at THB360 (S$16) for such a large bento, I make the common mistake of a Singaporean going "cheap-cheap" and just order without considering if the food would go to waste.

Anyway, after breakfast, headed to the hotel to meet Kexin and it was off to CHATUCHAT MARKET as we searched for items that we wanted: Pets stuff for her cat, and wedding stuff for me.

At Chatuchat Market, it's hard to resist snacking while shopping.

Check out the special flavoured icecream: Thai Iced Tea
Super love it!

Kexin had Coconut flavoured icecream that was refreshing for the hot weather.

Didn't spend much time at Chatuchat Market due to the killer weather.
Headed to TERMINAL 21 at Asoke for some shopping with air-con.

Found a shop that sells the type of clock which I want for the balcony at the new home

And also a cafe that sell awesome Coconut Meringue Pie

Desserie Sweet Cafe is a small bakery shop located on 2nd floor.
Try it when you're there!

It was Kexin's 1st time there, so I persuaded her to take some photos:

The shopping mall is a themed-mall with each level designed to reflect different countries.

I have been rather camera-shy recently (except for cam-whoring alone), hence, Kexin managed to only get 2 photos of me.

Love how we both each have a photo of us poking fun at the poor statue.

By the way, the big bag on my hand is indeed...

Around 30 packets of Taokaenoi Seaweed!
It is madness, but it's a must buy!

Another must try is at "HAVE A ZEED" located at the 4th floor.

Our dinner place for the night serves Phad Thai Spaghetti & Green Curry Spaghetti.

We then ended the night chilling at the hotel lounge due to the sudden downpour.

The next day was shopping at the Platinum Wholesale Mall before heading to the airport.

When at Platinum Mall, always eat this:

Stewed Pork with Rice.
This rice makes the 4 hours flight to Bangkok worth every bit of it!

Anyway, the trip home was alone again as we said our good-byes at the Bangkok Airport: She was flying Thai-airways, while I was with Flyscoot.

Because we are VIP.

Because we are lucky.

Because our room's electric is down.

We got a suite for the night!

Our must-have in Bangkok:

Hot Chocolate from Black Canyon!

It really is TO DIE FOR!

Just ended a super late & filling supper at Hway Guan.

I think I'm going to get fat again.

Bangkok - November 2012 (Last Day)

Last day at Bangkok is doing the usual last-minute shopping.

Not to forget our unconventional lunch of desserts:

At the iBerry cafe at CENTRAL WORLD.

All that food photos in Bangkok is making me hungry.

Bangkok - November 2012 (Day 3)

 DAY 3 @ TERMINAL 21 (ASOK)

Kexin told me about this place as we plan for our trip in April 2013. So I promised her that I will go find this mall while I'm there...

True to her words, this place is labelled by countries for each level!

And I shall let the photos do the talking:

Shops that resembles each country

Signage that resembles each country

Even the lighting are used to resemble the feel of each country

Not to forget the iconic landmarks of each country

At Terminal 21, we also found a shop that sells our favourite seaweed!

There was nothing much to buy at Terminal 21 apart from the interesting shops:

We headed back to SIAM PARAGON, our favourite place for meals, to have our dinner.

Fai Sor Kam
Located at level 4 of Siam Paragon, this place was packed with locals when we walked past it the day before. And upon trying the food, it's hard not to know why.

The Thai-Italian fusion cuisine will easily be missed if you ordered the usuals like what hubbs & Jun did

Pineapple fried rice

Phad Thai

For me, I was rather curious how does pasta with pork taste like. So I ordered the thai-italian fusion dish of pork pasta

All I could say is that if you love spaghetti bolognese and pork, then this dish is a must-have!

We also tried other side-dishes

Omelette with pork

 Spring roll Pork sausage

Ended the day with some beer and seaweed while hubb went for a massage session.

Swensens sundaes for less than S$5 each!

Damn awesome!

We found this shop at Terminal 21 (beside Asok BTS) that specialises in Our favourite seaweed!!!
