Wednesday Night

This is how we spend our Wednesday night.

Pretty boring especially when you're sitting on the sides and waiting. Thankfully I had a beautiful girl for company.

Changi Karting Circuit

I really hate to be sitting on the side like some trophy wife while the husband takes on the track. But this time round, I really had to give karting a miss even though he didn't invite me along to kart. The fear of my shoulder getting dislocated is too much for me to risk it.

So I do my usual P.A. stuff again: Phototaking and cleaning his sweat.

Changi Karting Circuit ("CKC") is Singapore’s 2nd and newest karting track.

Opened in May this year, on a reclaimed land in the vicinity of Changi is an area which hosts Singapore’s Aviation Airshow every 2 years, the area was transformed into a track with just under 1.1km in length with over 12 turns.

Every weekend, CKC opens up a 4 hour slot for race karts to have their practice done within the grounds. And since there was an old race kart sitting in SK Garage, the boys decided to bring it down for a spin.

His excitement to hit the tracks was so overwhelming, it's hard not be grouchy that I can only stand by the side to watch.

But I hate to admit that he looks charming in his new AlphineStars Kart Suit.

While the race kart slot was open for practice, there would be occasional slots for the fun kart session where the public could play the in-house karts for 10 minutes at S$30.

Group photo of the everyone (except me) going onto the fun kart session.

I felt even more grouchy when the girlfriends took it to the track too and he can't stop raving how fast the girls are going.

Thankfully there was this cute pair of twins that melted my heart.

Their driving style seem rather similar, and the cutest part was their unique hand signs to each other on the track. And when they had a minor disagreement, they reminded me of my brothers.

Best part was when they were leaving, they waved goodbye to everyone present. Such loveable kids!

My favourite photo of the day was capturing the boys standing by the side and looking on. Check out my caption:

Men will always be boys at heart when it comes to their toys.

Lucky for my "happy OOTD" that hid my grouchiness. I really felt like my ego is being trampled on when I'm (possibly) too injured to play? Perhaps its time to start racing again to remind him of the charm that he fell in love with.

I even had Lego earrings to match my Happy OOTD. But my face is still grouchy!

P.A. to a (wannabe) Racer

These days, I've added a new job to my resume:

PERSONAL ASSISTANT - to (wannabe) Racer Shawn.

My job scope includes the following:

1. Advise on car set-up best for track and daily driven

I may not know the 101 of how a car works. But trust me when I say it takes just common sense to tell him which choice is obviously better. Seriously, sometimes guys can turn girly when it comes to their car and constantly bug you to help them choose which is better for their car.

2. Advise on game plan during track

I feel like a coach whenever I do this: FOCUS. Get that timing. You are the FASTEST.
Especially moments when he comes back from his laps, depressed that some parts of the car just spoiled. I think of a practical solution while he settles the technical part.

But there are times when I do that "wifey stuff" by saying, "You don't get 2:35 or below, you are sleeping on the couch." and it works!

3. Media coverage

Ever notice that there are plenty of photos from the track session, and these photos are properly "censored"?

Even though the photos appear on HIS facebook, it's all done by me.

Yes, I'm the photographer too. And the one who edits, then post onto the social media.

Hence there usually isn't any photos of me during track day except for this where the event photographer took for us.

Even this photo looked like I was photoshopped in!
And I had just taken a photo of the guys if you noticed the camera on my hand.

The last description of my job scope is one that could put me in the Hall of GREATEST Wife:

4. Self-sacrifice

I don't know how to label this job description, but it had cost me my diamond ring for my birthday this year.
In exchange for his passion for racing.

So guys, if you think why I had attacked this crate with my camera as soon as I reached the garage that day,

I'm just taking photo of my DIAMOND RING.

Lifestyle Motorsports Track Day

Spent the weekend playing PA to him during the LMS Track Session.

It's a joy to be there for him as he returns to the pit faster after each laps.

He knows he got himself a gem when his logistics are taken care of and his game plan is well laid out for him whenever there's a hiccup.

Now how many racers got themselves a wife that does all that and more?

Together we summon

The haze situation had been really bad in Singapore the past few days.

And since Grandpa was undergoing chemotherapy, I was out whenever the PSI was sky-high, to ferry him for his medical check-ups etc. It really wasn't good for my body to be exposed to the haze. Within the 1st day of PSI reaching >200, I was already experiencing chest pains and breathlessness when walking short distance of ~200m. The throat was unusually dry and so was the skin. Everyone hid at home whenever possible.

When the haze finally cleared up a little this afternoon, the boys decided an "intervention".

It is a belief that the rain comes whenever the car enthusiasts washes their pride. With the haze not leaving and the rain not coming, the boys decided that it was time for a mass car wash so that they could "summon" the Rain God together.

We gathered at ESSO Geylang where the wash is the most thorough. There were about 8 cars, belonging to us and friends of friends.

I love meet-ups like these where like-minded friends gather for some fun. Best thing is that we all come from different walks of life, yet we are drawn together with a common love: CARS.

Tokyo Auto Salon Singapore 2013

Trying to live life while fulfilling my duties as a grand-daughter is starting to take a toll on me as I feel myself on the brink of falling sick.

Nonetheless, I went ahead to Tokyo Auto Salon at the Marina Bay Sands, hoping to see some special cars from Japan.

It was a rather disappointing trip as there were only 2 cars that were worth looking at:

1. The one and only Mugen Advanced RR

The full carbon-fibre body kit was ART! Not to forget the very well-hidden roll cage is a dream to own in a track car that we use as a daily drive.

2. SPOON SPORTS NSX

The sight of the NSX sitting in the car show can only leave all Honda fan boys dreaming of what the sleeping legend would sound like when awaken.

Apart from these, it was nice to see the Singapore fully carbon-fibre GTR and Malaysian Lai W S's FD2R also on display.

Thankfully the company to the show made the whole trip less boring. Not to forget the treats hubb bought me to cheer me up

If Tokyo Auto Salon would to come back next year, I would probably want to save my $25.

Home from Stacey & Gerald's church wedding

It's so heart-warming to attend weddings of girlfriends who are getting hitched to the Love of Their Life. And the feeling of being in church, just makes one feel so peaceful.

Anyway, after 2 weeks, we finally made it to

Check out what we bought: my #OOTD ...
A FIA approved race suit!

We can't help camwhoring in it too!

Soon we can start on that photoshoot! *excited*

Yet another Sunday at the Pasir Gudang Circuit for the last Track Day of 2012.

Luckily I had my pinwheel to accompany me!

Saturday, August 11, 2012

I'd love to call this the Orgasmic Tunnel for the way it makes many guys jizz at the sound of their own pipes.

But it is also the Surprise Tunnel when the surprise guests await you at the end of the tunnel i.e. traffic police road block!

Random thoughts @Jcube Ice Skating Rink

This is just like a mass meet-up. You have the small Cherry QQ attempting to skate at the corner of the rink. Then you have some who can move better like a Jazz or Lancer. Some are slightly more zai like a Colt Version-R or Swift-Sport moving faster than the noobs. In the middle of the rink, there are some posers like a 1.8 FD pretending to be a FD2R until one really skates very well past them, then they try to give chase. Then there are some random pros in their figure-skating gear trying some ballet moves while people admire like how they look at a CT9A. But the best of them is the Lamborghini who doesn't gives a fuck about everyone and just skates gracefully around the rink...

It was a great day to hit the tracks...

He's all geared up for the race he's been deprived of...

The sky remained clear the whole time we were there.

I'm all that he sees as he zooms pass.

When asked why:

In his own words, "So I will go faster n come back see u again"

Grinning away as he satisfied his need for speed.

The winner in the middle.

Racing for his Jona's garage.

The boys of SK Garage.

Loving this photo.
