Sentosa Spooktacular 2013

Somehow, it had became a norm to visit scary Halloween events with the 802 group.

This year, we were attracted by the Thai ghosts that Sentosa has jointly brought in with the renowned Thai movie production studios, GMM Tai Hub Co. Ltd (GTH).

The annual Asia's largest horror fest SENTOSA SPOOKTACULAR is back this year in Sentosa, spooking more fear and horror by teaming up with GTH. Held in Fort Siloso where most imaginations ran wild due to its history, the Sentosa Spooktacular trail is inspired by GTH's internationally acclaimed films such as Coming Soon, Shutter, Pee Mak, Dorm and Body.

As you can see, each haunted venues is related to a particular film. And each has a elaborated storyline, purposely carved out of the movie to suit this scare fest.

SPOILER ALERT!!!.

We decided to skip the "Ghost Tram" to the location since the queue was rather long.

A quick photo of the decorated tram before we ran off to catch the shuttle bus at the Beach Station. It was a faster way to get to Fort Siloso.

As we headed into the trail, I couldn't help loving the hangman on the street lamp. It looked so real!

Pity I didn't bring my Sony Nex 5 along as I wanted to enjoy the moment instead of going snap happy.

Since the first haunted house on the trail had a 60 minute queue, we headed inwards to the other haunted houses.

The first of the haunted house we went to was rumoured to be the scariest of them all. Everyone was spooked even before entering because we didn't know what to expect and all we hear were just screams.

Inside was indeed quite horrifying with "ghost" popping out of the wall.

Yet it was funny when our mock horrified expressions sent her laughing so hard that she couldn't stop.

But we got freaked out again when The Studio had flash light that causes double vision of the ghost to make it seem like it's approaching you.

I guess the funniest part was when Shawn decided to take lead in the group and pretended to wing-chun kick when one of the ghost suddenly popped out of the basin.

Following the trail, our next stop was PEE MAK.

Pee Mak was among all the funniest and lamest haunted house. Perhaps it's similar to the movie, which was really a comedy, we were laughing at the silly "ghost" most of the time.

Lucky us, even managed to catch the Pee Mak dance as we queued to enter.

Next on the spooky trail was horror movie COMING SOON.

It was quite lame because the whole time before we entered Sentosa Spooktacular, I had always thought that this attraction was not ready, hence it was "Coming Soon". I know it's very silly of me.

Oh well, that's beside the point. I wasn't really scared of this "ghost" either, because she just looked like one disfigured old hag.

I was almost getting bored of the haunted houses which hasn't really scared me until I went to BODY.

To be honest, I'm not exactly afraid of the "ghost" jumping out of the dark corners. It is the BODY PARTS!

I know it's fake blood and rubber parts. But when you walk past and it brushes against your head, it's just damn gross can!

Another part that I scare me was the MUMMIES hanging EVERYWHERE.

Worst thing is, you have to walk through it to get to the other side!

Half the time I was so scared that one of them would be real. Or even stiff cold!

But this didn't make me freak out as much as this:

THE WHOLE DAMN CORRIDOR FILLED WITH HAIR DANGLING FROM THE CEILING.

Images of Ju-On and the Ring and what-so-ever Japanese ghost just keep playing in my head. And all that hair on my face, neck and wherever it touches, just makes me want to cry.

Thankfully I was sane enough to tell myself that all this is not real.

Our last haunted house of the night was DORM

I wish I could say that my Spooktacular experience ended with a bang and that I finally got to shit in my pants and squat down in fear. ( The rule in this scare fest is that IF you're really very scared, you can squat down and raise your hands. The 'ghosts' will back off from you.)

Sadly, the dark tunnels of the Dorm saw me waving goodbye at Wichen happily as he acknowledged that he was the same "ghost" that greeted us at the entrance. Even Shawn was amazed how I could recognise the "ghost" in the dark.

Apart from the haunted houses, there were "ghost" roaming the haunted trail. Here are some photos we took:

I had fun hanging out with the 802 brothers and sisters as we laughed and poked fun at each other.

Now, in case you're curious why I had attended the Spooktacular on a night which is not on the posters:

With the Islander Card, we had enjoyed mailing list discount for a special event night held on the 20 October Sunday, which was opened only for Islanders and Sentosa Staff.

We had purchased our tickets at a special price of 1-for-1.
Standard ticket price was at S$66.60.

If you ask me, I'm glad I paid S$33.30 per ticket for mine.

It's funny that 1 year after our Halloween Horror at the USS that I just realised that I didn't blog about it!

Oh well, photos can be found on my facebook (which I haven't been updating).

Gatherings after gatherings

It's a weekend of GATHERINGS!

Started the weekend with celebrating the 21st birthday of the "baby brother" of the 802 group.

Can't believe that Jack (or "jack-jack" as I like to call him) is 21 this year. It felt like only yesterday when I was first introduced to him. He was only 16-going-on-17 then. Geesh... Kids grow up really fast these days!

Anyway, it was a family chalet that the Chong family had invited the 802 brothers to as all of us are part of their big family. I love hanging out with the 802 brothers and sisters for many reasons. And nothing can compare to the fun we have when we are together.

The 802 Sisters

The 802 Brothers

Hanging out with them makes me feel the true love of friendship as they do not judge or ostracize any single one within the group. Though life had drawn us apart, they really honor the brotherhood and makes the effort to keep this brotherhood intact. And that's the beauty of the 802 bond.

Pity we couldn't hang out with them all night as we had another gathering to attend which I didn't had the opportunity to capture any photos as we were BBQ-ing at a place we shouldn't be.

In case you're looking at my OOTD and wondering.

YES! I've joined the many girls in owning a denim overall!

I just love how the overall hides my sexy netted cropped top into revealing too much. And my whole OOTD only cost less than S$30 to put together!

Denim Overall (from Bugis Street) - S$20
Net/Crop top (from Bangkok) - S$5

A rather cheap playsuit that is suitable for play, yet sexy in a subtle way!

Shall end with my favourite photo of the night. It's rather narcissistic, I know:

Selfie gone wrong?

Shawn's 24 at ECP Chalet

This place is a nightmare. Thank God for the company.

Shall blog about my complaints when I have the time.

Here's a sneak peak at the only pretty part of the place, which I had to decorate to make the atmosphere better. But don't let the photo fool you!

Sam's Surprise

One thing that keeps the 802 brothers together is the great length they go to help each other whenever possible.

This time, it's Keefe.

Keefe is away at Boston for an exchange programme, and awaiting his return in sunny Singapore is his girlfriend of more than 10 years, Sam.

We all know how hard it is to be away from a loved one. So, to make Sam feel better, we decided to surprise her on her birthday!

The brothers all came in full force, and even collected the balloons that Keefe ordered.

And prepared a cake too...

Some even came from the West or after work...

While others battled fatigue to be there...

All that for a brother, and a smile on a dear sister's face.

Happy Birthday dear Sis!

Met up with most of the 802 brothers & sisters at the Airport today to send Keefe off to Boston for 6 months.

It's THE PROPOSAL DAY!

Bring the flowers out!

Feasting on Popeyes before we head over to Marina Barrage to meet the rest.

There was some Holiday Feast which only cost S$19.90 for all this food excluding dessert! Super worth it.

Don't have the photos for the actual event yet, but here's one of the 802 brothers who made it possible

Reminds us of our Proposal Day...

Can't wait for their wedding on August 2014. 6 months from ours.
