We had planned to celebrate Valentine's Day a day after the overly commercialize actual day.
The original plan of picnic in the park was spoiled by the daily afternoon showers. But we were determined to spend a quiet afternoon together over some nice food. So we headed over to the very chic & quiet MU PALOUR @ Holland Village.
Situated above Thai Express, the cafe is quiet with only another table occupied. Being my 2nd time there, I expected the crowd to be of such given its location away from the main stretch of eateries at the other side of the road. He, too, fell in love with the place as soon as we stepped in.
Overall, the delicious yet reasonably priced dessert pastries and the gourmet burgers are great in the rainy afternoon where we were nicely hidden from the wet crowd. It hard not to love the almost empty cafe, giving one the feeling of exclusivity.
Anyhow, valentine's day is any other day to us considering that we had been spending plenty of time together in the past 7 months while I haven't been working. However, it is indeed a rare occasion that we are taking train together.
